The Fredericksburg Optimist Club Calendar shows a schedule of planned activities. Members of the local organization have contributed time and energy to numerous community service projects and have contributed funds to help a number of local organizations that work with children execute beneficial projects. Our service projects have changed over time as we adapted to the changing needs of our community. We continue to look for new opportunities within our community through which we can reach out to children in need and make a difference in advancing the well-being of youth and community. We aspire to become an ever more effective force in service to youth and community in future years. To achieve that aspiration the Optimist Club of Fredericksburg depends upon the community at large. We need members from the community to manage, plan, and execute community service projects. We need volunteers from the community to provide time and effort to assist in executing service projects. We need community support for our fund raising activities to ensure we have adequate monies to conduct service of benefit to the community. The Optimist Club of Fredericksburg
has more than 30 years of community
service in Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. Our membership is made of of
people from diverse backgrounds and professions including small business
ownership, recruiting and job placement, engineering, public accounting,
criminal justice, financial services, social services, education, and retail
management. Our diversity extends across generations with members just starting
their families to seasoned retirees. The primary focus of the Optimist Club of
Fredericksburg is on projects for the benefit of disadvantaged youth and on
recognition of outstanding area students.
